This end table is much like "Winter Walk I" except that it has the apron made from a vertical birch and stick configuration. The yellow birch apron nicely compliments the yellow birch root base pedestal. The wood used to make this table is highly figured hard maple; a very rare and prized maple that forms when the tree is stressed. The finish is high quality musical instrument lacquer (12 sprayed on coats) that has been sanded with ten successively finer grits of finishing emery cloth. The result is an extremely smooth glass-like finish. Both miniature snow shoes are made by me in the shop from Adirondack ash and are also woven by me with rawhide. I choose to make my own snow shoes as they fit the piece much better and look a part of it rather than drawing undue attention to them. The feet are cherry burl. The table stands 27 inches high and the oval top is 26" in length an d 18" wide.
