The "Sagamore" timber framed spalted maple coffee table - This table has 54 mortise and tenon joints incorporated into it - 48 of them are pegged with walnut and two are through mortises. The wood for this was cut from a mature dead hard maple tree in the northern Adirondacks that had very nice spalting in the wood. The wood is very rare! The table top is distinctly spalted tiger maple (very rare!) The table boasts mortised "bread-board" ends that feature slotted pegs on the outer pegs to allow for expansion and contraction. This table also features a magazine rack built into the framing of it with 7 mortised and pegged purlins. It also features a full dove-tailed maple drawer with a shop-made through-mortised pull. This is a one of a kind artisan piece, extremely rugged and entirely hand-made in my shop. The top measures 38 1/2" x 20 - It stands 18" floor to top and the legs are 3" wide on all sides. Matching end tables and sofa table are also available. HIS ITEM IS CUREENTLY SOLD OUT; IT CAN STILL BE ORDERED AND MADE ON REQUEST AND SUBJECT TO SUPPLY OF SPALTED MAPLE.
